Before you connect

You'll need:

  1. A workspace admin on the Attio side. Authorizing the connection grants Alta access to your records, notes, and workspace configuration, which takes Attio workspace-level permissions. A basic member usually can't approve it.
  2. Access to Alta's integration settings. Any user who can open integration settings can start the connection. No special Alta admin role required.

Connecting is a one-click authorization. You click Connect in Alta, get redirected to Attio to approve the connection, and you're done. No API keys to copy or manage.

1. Is the Attio integration native? 

Yes. Alta connects to Attio directly, with no third-party connector or middleware in between. You authorize the connection from both sides, and Alta reads and writes through Attio's own API.

2. Does data sync both ways? 

Yes, the integration is bidirectional. Alta reads contacts and companies from Attio to build and filter campaign audiences, and writes back as your agents work: updated contact records, plus a note for every outreach action. Attio stays your source of truth, with Alta's activity logged on top of it.

3. How quickly does Alta pick up new contacts from Attio? 

Alta pulls new contacts as your campaign runs. When a campaign uses Attio as its audience source, Alta requests the next batch of contacts whenever it generates prospects, and catches records added to Attio since the last pull. No manual export, no re-syncing on your end.

7. Will Alta overwrite my existing Attio data? 

No. Alta only updates the fields you've mapped for write-back, and only those set to send on update. Everything else stays exactly as your team entered it. You control which fields Alta is allowed to change.
